"Nessie" by San Antonio artist Elizabeth Carrington is a playful depiction of the Loch Ness Monster. The artwork is comprised of a large metal cut-out that has been partially submerged. The sculpture is a reference to Tom Slick, the park's namesake, and his passion for cryptozoology. Tom Slick was a San Antonian who went on expeditions in the 1950's to investigate creatures such as the Loch Ness Monster, the Yeti, Bigfoot, and the Trinity Alps giant salamander.
