The bench is composed of mosaic tile and small mementos contributed by the community and features the phrase 'Ars Longa, Vita Brevis' (“Art is Long, Life is Short”).  The artwork is in honor of the memory of Bernard Lifshutz and clearly establishes the presence of Southwest School of Art's entrance to the River.
