The San Antonio Film Commission coordinates all filming on city owned property. This encompasses more than 200 parks (including Hemisfair, Brackenridge Park, the San Antonio Botanical Garden, River Walk, etc.), La Villita, Market Square, and more – while also helping to identify parking for production vehicles and connecting filmmakers to film-savvy police officers and park police when needed.
In keeping with the spirit of a film-friendly city, the San Antonio Film Commission and City of San Antonio Parks & Recreation Department waive permit fees for productions of all sizes, to ensure filmmakers can work in an efficient and affordable way.
PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended that you provide the Film Commission at least two weeks notice in order to guarantee a permit, if approved. The City requires at least five business days notice in order to issue permits.
Large commercials, TV shows, features and any production involving cables, lighting, etc. are required to submit a certificate of insurance to the above address, with The City of San Antonio named as additional insured.
